Fredzer
The Firefly Chief
Down at the Firefly Hall, Fredzer was made Chief after the residers discovered the old Firefly Chief buried under the rubble when the old movie theeAter fell down. It didn’t burn or anything like that, it just fell down. We ain’t got around to rebuilding it yet. Maybe after they get the Cannery running again.
I hear tell that Fredzer used to work the trains keeping the fires a going. But when the new fangled trains came by, Fredzer wasn’t needed anymore so he tired out and started working with the old Chief down at the Firefly Hall. Fredzer did some odd jobs over there, like raising up Skeekz. I hear tell that one morning Fredzer opened the firefly doors and there she was, wrapped in a basket like a tuna. There wasn’t any note or anything so he didn’t know where she came from. He kept her hiding because he was afraid they would take her to the orphanage. Everything was going on fine until everyone started hearing her strange noises at nigh coming from near the Firefly Hall. By then Skeekz was pretty much grows up and ran off so Fredzer wouldn’t get in the troubles. But as things turned up, Mister Mayor gave him a medal for his service to the little ones. Since then, Fredzer has been teaching the youngens what not to do near a fire. For one thing, it’s a sure way to end up on the other side, the down side.
Skeekz ran off and joined the circus but she stops and sees Fredzer every time she’s in town. Now days the most excitement that happens here in Ebel is when Maney falls out of his tree house. Everyone rushes down to see Fredzer try and get Maney up again.
