 Tattered Tales from Ebel Alley™

Once a week the circus comes to here, across the street from me. That little Skeekz can do all sorts of things. She’s even talked Mildred Mousser’s kid brother, Maney, into joining the circus. I hear tell he’s a little touched in the head, if you know what I mean. I think he’s fallen out of he’s tree house one too many time.

I hear tell that Skeekz don’t know where she came from. It wasn’t long ago that someone told me about her in secret so don’t tell anybody what I’m telling you. I hear tell that she was left in a basket by the door at the Firefly Hall. Good thing they didn’t run over her when the whistle blow because there’s a fire at Petesey’s or Maney fell out of his tree house again. Seems they took her in a raised her up without anyone knowing about it. She was only allowed out at night, and only after dark so nobody would find out about her and take her down to the orphanage. But they had to stop letting Skeekz out at night because she kept making so much noise and that’s how she got he name.

Well, one day the circus came to Ebel Alley after a stint over in Snake Gully and off she ran. But she keeps coming back week after week after week to see the guys down at the Firefly Hall. I think she misses the all the guy whose grew her up.

Anyway, Skeekz and Maney got this act at the circus that’s something you’ve got to see next time they’re in Ebel. I won’t tell you about it because that would spoil the soup. They got some of their buddies there too. They sets up their tents directly across from me so you know where to find them. You know that Maney is the kid brother of Mildred down at the Boarding House. They don’t look anything alike.
