Linda Steele Originals ~Artist Dolls
Linda with her first grandchild, Emilee Kay, and the Emmie doll, 1995 Dolls of the Year Public's Choice Winner When you purchase one of Steele Originals porcelain dolls, either a limited edition or one-only, you can be assured that it has been custom made personally by Linda. She creates the original sculpture, makes the plaster molds, pours the molds with liquid porcelain, cleans the greenware, hand paints the doll parts, sews the cloth bodies, assembles the doll, designs and tailors the costumes. All of Linda's personally made dolls feature realistic, veined detailed,
Paperweight-Glazed™ eyes. To know if you have one of Linda's original dolls, look on the back of the neck. There you will find her logo mark, an oval with the initials "L" "S" inside. The head is signed, dated, and numbered if a limited edition. Of course, there are those few that sneaked out with missing something.
Sculpted from scratch, plaster molds, pouring, firing, painting, assembly, and costume design and seamstress. Personally produced in limited quantities of 250 or less, most being in editions of 50 or less.
