Roxie

Roxie stole my heart when she was born December 8, 2004 at 4am.  She was the fourth puppy and Sissy ripped the cord right off her belly.  The little thing bled like crazy and she was having difficulty breathing.  I sat with her on a heating pad for 4 hours holding my finger on her belly and trying to help her.  Needless to say, we bonded right away.  What ever I did, it worked because she has grown into a beautiful little lady.  She was meant to be here and little did we know just how special this little lady would be in our lives.  On April 4, 2006, our matriarch, Reggie died eight days after giving birth, leaving me with 5 baby girls to raise.  Although I hand fed the girls, Roxie took over as their mama.  A little over a week had passed when we were sent a miracle, Roxie got milk.  When Love, one of the girls had her first litter January 2, 2007, Roxie decided she needed some help and proceeded to settle in to help feed the little ones.  Of course, I had to pull her out but she was more than ready and willing to help out again.  She is such a little mama, she still cleans the girls as if they were her little babies.

Roxie Mama.........only one of these puppies belongs to Roxie

Roxie got milk sent from heaven and nursed Reggie's girls after her grandmother  passed over Rainbow Bridge..

Sissy and her daughter Roxie help to raise Reggie's girls.

Roxie has that look: "When I offered to help out I didn't know they would still be hanging around so long.  When are these girls going to grow up?"

She's such a little sweetheart!

Roxie is such a sweetheart and attached to my hip.

Roxie became the substitute mama for Reggie's girls in April of 2006.  She still tries to mother them..........

Roxie's job as sub-mama seems to be never ending.  I was sitting on the sofa and could hear this noise, I looked over and there was Star sucking away.  It was really funny when she lifted her head.  She looked like she had just got caught in the candy dish.
