Sire: Sonic Gizmo of Garlin

Dam: Malady Regina Demitasse

Little Regi

When we suddenly lost our matriarch, Reggie, she had given birth March 27, 2006 to what was to be her last litter.  We had no idea just how suddenly true that would be.  She had five girls and one boy.  The little boy died April 3rd, then April 4th, Reggie passed over Rainbow Bridge.  I had very little time to grieve her passing as I had her five baby girls to raise and was determined to see them grow up.  There was no question that we would keep one of the girls.  Babe' Love was the only one with a white on her chest, just like her mama.

We called her Lovey Girl in the beginning but she is so much like her mama we now call her Little Regi.  The only things that are different are size, color, and Reggie loved to have her hair brushed 24/7.  Little Regi absolutely, no way, no how, no brush!!!!  The first time I was able to finally get a top knot on her, she made us laugh so hard I almost wet my pants.  If only I had a movie camera ..... she ran all around the room, stopping every couple of steps and would keep looking up, higher and higher, trying to see what was on top of her head.  She did that for several minutes before she finally got the top knot out.  I got tired of fighting with her and the bangs were cut as well as a puppy cut.

    16 weeks old..............

Little Regi may not look like her mama, but she definitely has many of Reggie's traits.  We used to call Reggie the mouth of the south as she would bark if a fly farted cross-ways.  Little Regi has her bark, her Queen Tutt stance, her flopping over onto her back to be picked up, and she loves to curl up next to me on her back and have her belly rubbed.  And she runs and jumps like a leopard.

Picture below was taken the day before Little Regi gave birth to her first litter January 2, 2007, 2 boys, Prespero and Anio Nuevo.  Both weighed 4 ounces.  I had to work so I had my granddaughter, Emilee, come and Regi sit.  She called me when Regi's water broke and I went flying home.  Emilee and I nearly cracked up when Regi began sounding like a dolphin when she was having contractions.  All went well with the first pup, Prospero.  I went back to work and let Emilee birth Anio.  She named the boys.  Our daughter says that Emilee has my Dr. Doolittle genes.

Both boys have the white crest on their chest, just like their grandmother, Reggie.  Anio has a double crest.  Picture taken when they were 2 days old.
